Visual Aids

The following rules are simple but VERY important.

Visual aids should:

  1. be simple (a chart with 100 numbers is confusing—try 5)
  2. be big enough for the entire audience to see clearly
  3. logically and directly support your point
  4. be shown only when being referred to, and
  5. never be passed around. (If you pass a visual aid around, you will lose everyone’s attention for a different 30 seconds)
